AHHHHH It’s PAX time!!!
I’m ecstatic to be back in Seattle for what I consider my favorite holiday. I’m writing this from a hotel room on Day 0, and though I’ve only been in town for a few short hours, I’m already having an amazing time. Sharing this enormous FOUR DAY party together with incredible people is all I could ever hope for.
If you’re hoping to meet up with me, I’ll be at Bandland with all the other “Strippers” every day of the show. I don’t have a definite time that I’ll be in yet, but if you want in on my latest, make sure to follow me on twitter like the rest of the cool kids. I’ll be sure to tweet when I’ll be there signin’ stuff, meetin’ people and sellin’ merch. “What merch?” you ask? Lemme break it down for ya:
First up, I have a pair of pins from my first webcomic, *Brother* on sale. Let me tell ya, if you’re looking for a way to cement a bond with a brother, sister, friend or other person, these pins are guaranteed* to work. Or just keep em for yourself. That’s cool too.
The next thing I have is a lovely print of my new Strip Search family. It measures 13” x 19” and would look incredible with some signatures hanging on your wall. That ish is cavity-sweet, my friend… If I do say so myself.
One last thing: Make sure you get in on our TWO HOUR long reunion show on Sunday at 3:30. ALL TWELVE of us “Strippers” plan on tearing the roof of the main theater, and it’ll surely be better than any other panel at PAX. So line up early, and don’t miss out!
Sometimes I catch myself spending way too long on a “doodle”… Case in point: Here’s a “doodle” of one of the main characters from my upcoming webcomic, Load.
Sometimes we just take too big a swing.
Here’s a Load doodle and a wack handstyle.
So… instead of sleeping… I decided to finish this Tenko King fan art. In case you’re not in the know, Tenko King is the upcoming adventure comic by my fellow Strip Search combatant, Father x2 and all around swell (read: old) guy: Tavis Maiden.
Did you want to be a part of history? You still can. Send this guy your love and money and tell all your friends that you knew about Tenko King before it was cool. Cause trust me, it’s gonna be cool.
After yesterday’s ridiculousness, I woke up feeling like I needed to draw. So here’s one of the main characters from my upcoming webcomic, Load. Because of the nature of the comic, I won’t be able to render my characters in this way, but it’s always fun for me to play with different styles. Plus, I couldn’t stand having my last post be the top thing in this blog….
Though I have a ton of stuff written and planned for her, she’s still nameless, because I’m a bad person and terrible at naming characters. :O
RWBY OC. Do not steal please ;)
Maigeanta is a member of the elite team of CMYK. She enjoys reading books that are good, and spending time alone.
She is the sniper of the team, but isn’t afraid to mix things up close and personal. Though quiet on the outside, she swings her 50 cal axe-rifle, with reckless abandon.
I always complain that I never have enough time to mess with fan art, so tonight I made sure to set aside some time to do something.
One of the projects from the Strip Search kids that I’m most looking forward to is Amy’s Clique Refresh, a story centered around four friends who maintain an internet friendship while playing a game called Ether Ruin together. With all the negativity that tends to surround online gaming and other digital interactions, one thing we tend to forget is the endless stories of lasting, meaningful, friendships that were made across the internet. Relationships that would have otherwise been impossible due to distance are now much more common. And it’s become easier than ever to call out to the entire world and find people that share your interests. We truly live in an amazing time, and few people understand its importance better than my pal, Amy.
I drew Lia because it’s my nature when playing MMOs to build a tanky character. I love holding the attention of the mob, and I love being the only thing standing between my friends and certain death.
Obviously, I don’t know the details about the game Amy is crafting or much about Lia for that matter, but seeing how she has such a tiny shield, I’d love to think that she has to be agile and precise to block any incoming attack.
Sketching out some logos for my upcoming animated webcomic, Load… This one’s my favorite concept so far.
